'Enhance your senses and relax your body and mind.' Come and Hide from the Chaos
Surviving the Christmas Rush: My Tips for Staying Sane and Finding Time for Self-Care
The festive season is here, and like many of you, I’m juggling a million things at once—running my salon, offering permanent makeup treatments, managing Christmas prep, and trying to make time for my own family traditions. It’s a lot! But I’m determined to make this holiday season joyful and stress-free, so I’m sharing a few of my tips (and some salon treats) to help you stay grounded amidst the chaos.
1. Get Organised Early
In the salon, preparation is everything, and the same goes for Christmas. I’ve already made my lists—gifts, groceries, even tasks like decorating. Breaking it down into bite-sized chunks makes it all feel more manageable. If you haven’t started yet, don’t worry—there’s still time to tick things off bit by bit.
2. Simplify Your Christmas To-Do List
I’m a big fan of keeping things simple. Do you really need to host a three-course dinner and make homemade desserts? Maybe not. This year, I’m focusing on the things that matter most, like spending quality time with loved ones, rather than trying to create a Pinterest-perfect Christmas.
3. Make Time for Self-Care
Let’s be honest, Christmas isn’t just busy; it can be exhausting. That’s why I’ve made a conscious effort to pencil in some “me time,” and I’m encouraging you to do the same. At the salon, we’ve got a few spaces left for some much-needed TLC.
Imagine escaping the hustle for a little while, sinking into our foot spa with a hot chocolate in hand.
Or, unwind with a hot stone back massage and let the festive madness melt away.
It’s the perfect way to recharge and face the season feeling refreshed and ready.
4. Delegate Like a Pro
Whether it’s at work or at home, I’m learning to let go and ask for help. My team at the salon are amazing at keeping things running smoothly, and at home, I’ve handed over some of the holiday prep to my family. Letting others take on small tasks makes such a difference.
5. Enjoy the Little Things
This year, I’m soaking up the small moments that make the season special. Whether it’s the sound of carols in the background while I work or sneaking a moment to admire the Christmas lights after a long day—it’s these little joys that keep me smiling.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed by Christmas chaos, remember: it’s okay to pause, breathe, and prioritise your well-being. And if you need an escape from the madness, you’re always welcome at the salon for a bit of pampering and relaxation.
Let’s make this holiday season not just busy, but beautiful.
