Why Choose Laser Hair Removal?

  • Reduces hair growth permanently over time

  • Suitable for most skin types and hair colours

  • Fast, precise treatments

  • No more ingrown hairs or razor burns

How It Works

Laser hair removal uses highly concentrated light to target the pigment (melanin) in the hair follicle. The laser energy converts to heat, damaging the follicle and reducing future hair growth. Over a series of treatments, the hair becomes finer and lighter until it stops growing altogether.

FAQs

1. How many sessions will I need?

Most clients need 6 to 8 sessions spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. The exact number depends on the treatment area, hair type, and individual response to the laser.

2. Does laser hair removal hurt?

Most clients describe the sensation as a quick snap, like an elastic band. Modern lasers have cooling technology to make the treatment more comfortable.

3. Is laser hair removal safe?

Yes, when performed by a trained professional. Our advanced lasers are designed to target hair follicles while protecting the surrounding skin.

4. Does it work on all skin and hair types?

Laser hair removal works best on darker hair because the laser targets melanin (the pigment in hair). While lighter hair (blonde, grey, red) is harder to treat, some modern lasers can still achieve good results.

5. Are there any side effects?

Mild redness and swelling are common and usually subside within a few hours. Rare side effects include temporary pigment changes or blistering, which we minimise by customising the treatment to your skin type.

6. How long do results last?

After a full course of treatments, most clients experience long-term hair reduction. Maintenance sessions once or twice a year may be needed to keep the skin smooth.

7. Can I shave or wax between sessions?

Shaving is fine, but avoid waxing, plucking, or threading between sessions as these methods remove the hair follicle, which the laser needs to target.

8. Can I have laser hair removal if I have tattoos?

Yes, but the laser cannot be used directly over tattooed skin. We'll carefully work around any tattoos.

9. Can I have laser hair removal while pregnant?

Laser hair removal isn’t recommended during pregnancy due to hormonal changes that can affect skin sensitivity and hair growth patterns.

Pre-Treatment Advice

To get the best results and minimise side effects, follow these guidelines:

✅ Shave the treatment area 24 to 48 hours before your appointment.
✅ Avoid sun exposure and tanning (including fake tan) for at least 2 weeks before treatment.
✅ Stop waxing, plucking, or threading at least 4 weeks before your first session. Shaving is fine.
✅ Avoid retinol, exfoliants, and strong acids in the treatment area for at least 48 hours before.
✅ Inform us of any medications you are taking, including antibiotics, as some medications can make your skin more sensitive to light.
✅ Clean skin only – avoid makeup, lotion, deodorant, or oils on the treatment area.
✅ If you have a history of cold sores, you may need to take an antiviral medication before treatment if treating the face.

Aftercare Instructions

After your session, proper aftercare will help ensure smooth results and avoid irritation:

🚫 Avoid sun exposure and use SPF 30+ on treated areas for at least 2 weeks.
🚫 No hot showers, saunas, or swimming for 24 to 48 hours post-treatment.
🚫 Don’t wax, pluck, or thread between sessions – only shave if needed.
✅ Apply aloe vera or a cool compress if the area feels warm or irritated.
✅ Moisturise regularly with a gentle, unscented lotion to keep the skin hydrated.
✅ Avoid harsh products like retinoids, glycolic acid, and exfoliants for at least 5 days.
✅ Mild redness and swelling are normal and should fade within a few hours to a couple of days.
✅ If blistering or pigment changes occur, contact us immediately for advice.

Who is a Good Candidate for Laser Hair Removal?

✅ People with dark hair and fair to medium skin tones tend to see the best results.
✅ Those looking for long-term hair reduction rather than temporary fixes.
✅ People who are tired of shaving, waxing, or dealing with ingrown hairs.
❌ If you have very light, grey, or red hair, you may need to consider other options.
❌ If you are pregnant or have certain skin conditions, you may need to postpone treatment.
